Michael's Ice Cream - Home of The Bubble

A southern Ohio staple, a traditional Bubble features house-made, dark chocolate syrup in a parfait glass, scoops of French vanilla ice cream topped with a hearty glob of marshmallow cream (which oozes down the sides of the glass and onto a saucer), finished with crushed peanuts that are roasted in-house.

Meeka Mohler, fourth-generation owner of Michael’s, one of Ohio’s most-beloved and venerable treat shops. Mohler’s great-grandfather, Joe Michael, started the business in 1909 and was followed by two more generations of the family to mind the store, including Mohler’s father, Tom Michael.

The Original Jackson County Veal

Jackson County veal is a unique take on the classic pork tenderloin sandwich, originating in Jackson County, Ohio. Unlike traditional veal, which comes from young cows, this version uses a large piece of pork that is battered, dipped in cracker meal, and deep-fried. The sandwich is known for its oversized portion, often hanging well beyond the edges of the bun, and is typically served with pickle.  Get your Original Jackson County Veal at these local restaurants.
