SUMMARY:Fright at the Fairgrounds - Haunted Barn
DESCRIPTION:The “Fright at the Fairgrounds\,” a Haunted Barn attraction held inside the Cattle Barn at the Jackson County Fairgrounds\, will be opening soon for 2025 after taking last year off to revamp the attraction. \nThe Jackson County Livestock Committee\, along with help from volunteers\, 4-H and FFA youth members\, have put on the spooky attraction year after year. The haunted attraction is self-guided\, and it can be found at the Jackson County Fairgrounds\, located at 96 Meadow Run Road in Wellston. \nIt has been a local favorite for over a decade. It is packed with nightmarish creatures\, twisting corridors\, and terrors lurking in the dark. Every step takes you deeper into the unknown — will you make it out alive\, or become part of the haunt? \nThe attraction is set for Saturday evenings – Oct. 11\, Oct. 18\, Oct. 25 and Nov. 1. The cost of admission this year is $20 per person. Tickets will be sold starting at 7:30 p.m. each night. The haunts begin at 8 p.m. The Haunted Barn will be open until around 11 p.m. each night. The attraction is open to everyone; however\, an adult should accompany children under the age of 13. \nIn addition to heart-pounding scares\, visitors can enjoy concessions and Haunted Barn T-shirts available for purchase. A covered shuttle will transport guests from the parking lot and the waiting line is fully covered\, ensuring that rain won’t dampen the fun. \nThis year\, the event will also feature a Scaredy Cats Kiddie Hour from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Oct. 25 and Nov. 1. This is held prior to the opening of the Haunted Barn and gives the chance for small children to walk through the barn with the lights on and meet all the monsters. The cost for the Kiddie Hour will be $5.
