Jackson County - a local haven for the arts
Jackson County is home to the historic Markay and Liberty theatres which host live theatrical and musical performances. In addition, the Markay Theatre lobby displays a gallery of artwork created by local artists.
In addition to live entertainment options, Jackson’s Tri-City Theatre plays the newest blockbuster and independent films, as well as free summer movies for children.


Liberty Theatre Oak Hill
The Liberty Theatre Community Center is a 1920s restored theatre owned by the Oak Hill Historical Society. It is available to rent for parties, showers, reunions, family functions, banquets, meetings, live performances, and more. Markay Cultural Arts Center Jackson
The Southern Hills Arts Council (SHAC) works to enhance the quality of life in the region by encouraging and stimulating the practice and appreciation of the arts. SHAC, a member of the Ohio Arts Council, has the fiscal responsibility of the upkeep of the Markay Cultural Arts Center’s theatre and gallery, as well as the responsibility of the organization’s membership. In addition to an art gallery, the Markay offers live performances of music and theatre as well as free movies throughout the year.

Tri-City Theatre Jackson
